Creating a business that serves the community and the project
One of the hardest parts of the work we do is food provision. With the sheer quantity and variety of food for the animals we work with, this is both challenging and expensive.
This is how Pangolin Permaculture was born, providing us with the chance to grow some of the many things we need for the centre, whilst not using pesticides or other harmful agents.
Whilst initially starting with some farmland close to the wildlife centre, this has now expanded to include the early stages of hydroponics, aquaponics and other projects.
Producing enough for ourselves and being self sufficient is the number one goal of PP. In the long term we hope to create a revenue stream with products sold to the local community to fund additional activities.
